The Washington Liveaboard Assoc.-
.... A Partner in Environmental Stewardship
Liveaboards are an important part of the Pacific Northwest community and we embrace our role in helping to protect it's beauty, safety, and security.
We seek to:
Improve and preserve water quality
Protect the aquatic habitat and environment of Puget Sound, and all the waters where we sail, cruise and live
Ensure that all vessels do not discharge sewage or other pollutants
Enlist the active participation of all marina tenants to protect and improve the natural resources that sustain our businesses, neighborhoods, homes, and lifestyles
With a genuine interest in water quality preservation and improvement, the Washington Liveaboard Association (WLA) adheres to a comprehensive guide of "Best Managment Practices". This guide addresses bilge water mangement, used oil disposal, responsible fueling practices, spill prevention and response, sewage disposal and pump-out requirements, gray water management, and in-water boat cleaning with environmentally-friendly cleaners. The WLA also supports the local marinas to achieve and maintain their "Clean Marina" certification.
Please do your part to be environmentally responsible...
it is where we live, work, and play!
